Married to Carrollyn C. Cox, and father of four grown children, grandfather of seven and counting.

Avocations and hobbies - certified scuba diver, appearing in bar association dramatizations, choral singing, swimming, bike riding, walking on the beach and sitting down with a good book.

Admitted to practice before all Virginia Courts, including the Supreme Court of Virginia, the Virginia Court of Appeals, and Circuit & General District Courts (traffic, criminal, civil and juvenile and domestic relations); US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia; US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit; United States Supreme Court.
